Anika Vavic of Serbia (also) plays Prokofjew’s Sonata No. 6 in
a nice CD produced by the Austrian Broadcasting System (ORF), in
addition to Ravel’s Valses nobles, pieces by Scriabin and, above
all, a Haydn Sonata, which enchants by virtue of its freshness,
vitality and spirited simplicity. Good technique, loving threatment
of pieces and, as the bottom line, proof that there does exist such
a thing as feminine piano playing.
